Nate Diaz and Khamzat Chimaev are set to headline the UFC 279 card. The bout marks the last fight of Diaz’s UFC contract. Thus, many fans believe that the company has purposely set up such a difficult matchup for the Stockton native.
Fans and media have shown their dissent over the perplexing decision to establish a fight between the two. While many people are already counting Diaz out, Joe Rogan is certainly not one of them.

Joe Rogan believes Nate Diaz could pull off an upset
The guests, who also happen to be MMA fans, spoke about the toughness of Nate Diaz.

One of them said, “Nate Diaz isn’t going anywhere.” While referring to the Leon Edwards fight.
Rogan then mentioned the UFC 279 main event and said, “He’s fighting Khamzat Chimaev. It’s the main event correct? So If it’s the main even so, that means it’s five rounds. That’s tough. The fourth and the fifth round… that motherf*cker doesn’t get tired.”

The podcaster wasn’t sleeping on Diaz, although he said that the size discrepancy between the American and Chimaev would come into play.
Rogan said, “Nate has fought at 155… that’s where maybe he was at his optimal frame. Khamzat fought at 185. That’s a big guy”
“He knocked out Gerald Meerschaert with one punch at 185 pounds… this is how good this f*cking guy is. This guy is dangerous,” he added.

Speaking on the Californian’s chin, the UFC commentator said, “Nate Diaz is the most durable motherf*cker that’s ever lived. That’s why it’s a recipe for a wild fight”
Joe Rogan, while hosting a podcast with Kamaru Usman, also mentioned this fight and constantly kept telling Usman, that one cannot just count Nate Diaz out, although he agreed when Usman said that it’s a “bizarre fight”
Nate Diaz is a fan favorite and will have the crowd cheering him inside the Arena; however, if we talk about how many see the fight play out, then most of the fans are expecting a lopsided dominance from Chimaev.
