The second loss of Canelo Alvarez‘s career was delivered at the hands of the Russian boxer, Dmitry Bivol in 2022. So, he moved up in weight for this particular bout, but Alvarez couldn’t live up to the challenge as Bivol easily worked his way around the fierce head movements of Canelo Alvarez. Bivol holds the WBA Super World Light Heavyweight title under his name since 2017, and he’s a boxer who hasn’t faced any loss in his professional career yet. But now, Alvarez is determined to deliver Bivol the first loss of his career.
Now, just before the Canelo Alvarez vs. John Ryder bout, Dmitry Bivol has tweeted about the bout. He stated how the opponent for this fight has been hand-picked by the team of Alvarez. Bivol told fans not to expect anything extraordinary but it’ll be a good show to see Alvarez making his comeback in his homeland, and going against a man with a lot of guts.
So, the fans went crazy over this tweet, as many saw this as the beginning of the build of the rematch between Alvarez and Bivol. After the Ryder fight, Canelo Alvarez is looking out to fix the rematch with his nemesis. But this time he’s planning to do it without his wrist injury. He’s even stalling David Benavidez for this match and has stated on multiple occasions that he’ll look in the direction of ‘The Mexican Monster’ only when the Bivol’s fight is done or it cannot happen due to some reasons.

But obviously first, Canelo needs to fight John Ryder first.
