Tuscaloosa, Alabama-born Deontay Wilder turned professional in 2008. He has an impressive record of forty-three wins against two losses. ‘The Bronze Bomber’ won the WBC Heavyweight title in 2015 and defended it for four years until he handed it over to Tyson Fury. Out of the forty-three wins of Wilder, forty-two came through knockout. Known for his powerful punches and ability to finish battles quickly, the six feet and seven inches tall heavyweight’s knock-out-to-win percentage stands at a massive 91%.

A boxer known for his exciting, action-packed fights, Wilder had been on a long winning streak, defending his title successfully against notable opponents such as Luis Ortiz, Bermane Stiverne, and Dominic Breazeale. However, his first loss came in February 2020, when he faced Tyson Fury, by TKO in the seventh round. Eight months later, he lost the trilogy fight to Fury at Nevada’s T-Mobile Arena. Nevertheless, fans and followers still count Wilder among the best heavyweights in the world.

Deontay Wilder’s confusing words have caused concern

Amid the developments around his new year campaign, Deontay Wilder’s social media posts have raised concerns among some due to the nature of his statements. Today fans came across three messages:

“By the show of hands, Does anyone else feel not happy right now?”

 “I LOVE You’ll.”

“They tried to take my existence away, Not know they only made me better and much more stronger.”

But the last few days’ tweets, in particular, grabbed attention for their tone. Wilder seems to suggest that he may not be content and has again brought attention to possible struggles with anxiety.

For example, on January 12, he said, “Being unaccomplished at a certain age in life will give you anxiety, but a strong mindset and a determined work ethic will keep you alive. Providing services to your greatness.”

Soon it was followed by another tweet on January 22, “Wait, you soul searched by looking into my eyes just to tell me you love me, but in the same sentence, you steal from me?! Now that’s scary.”

“Evil always trying to divide and conquer,” he tweeted on January 23. The next day, it was, “Gas stations make me feel vulnerable.”

It could be possible that Wilder may be getting impatient ahead of his upcoming fight, or is experiencing something more profound in his personal life. In the past, ‘The Bronze Bomber’ has publicly acknowledged his struggles with mental health issues, as per a video posted by HoopJab. Some believe that Wilder’s statements are simply song lyrics, but regardless, many are confused.

Deontay Wilder, among some tweets and forthcoming battles

It took nearly a year for ‘The Bronze Bomber’ to stage a return. And return, he did with a bang, defeating Finland’s Robert Helenius via first-round knockout.

His return sparked talks of fights against big names such as Anthony Joshua. However, WBC’s instructions mandated an eliminator fight against former champion Andy Ruiz Jr. It was required to qualify for the challenge against Tyson Fury. In early 2019, Wilder and Ruiz Jr. had a brief public exchange on social media in which they expressed interest in fighting each other. However, the match never came to fruition. Per the latest report, fans could see a Wilder – Ruiz Jr. fight by May this year
