The tumultuous marriage between LIV Golf CEO, Greg Norman, and ex-wife, Chris Evert was a wild one. The relationship lasted just 15 months, but it wasn’t before bountiful romantic trips and emotional messages to one another.
During the early days after their Bahamas wedding, Evert was seen at the U.S. Open’s 8th Annual USTA Serves’ Opening Gala, wherein she responded to questions about her new husband. As a bride brimming with excitement, she revealed a host of things about her husband, including his talents in tennis.

The tennis legend stepped out solo for the U.S. Open event and took questions from the media. She was seen having a good time with fellow tennis legends while enjoying her reception at the gala.
Presumably, she got swept with the tennis fervor at the gala. Evert revealed that her then-husband, Greg Norman, was in fact a fine player of her sport. “Yeah, he’s a good tennis player,” she revealed.
Why did Chris Evert and Greg Norman split up?
The celebrity couple’s euphoria was short-lived, with a secret divorce ending their marriage in less than two years. Their wedding was well-publicized due to its nature, but also because of the preceding events that ensued.
The former couple divorced their previous partners after long years of marriage. Evert separated from former alpine ski racer, Andy Mill, ending a relationship that lasted just short of two decades. On the other hand, Norman married a former flight attendant, Laura Andrassy in 1981, and called that marriage off in 2007.
But after 15 months of spending time with their newfound love, things went south between Norman and Evert. According to people close to the pair, there were disputes involving interactions with their children from previous marriages.
Norman had two kids from his previous marriage to Andrassy: daughter, Morgan and son, Greg Norman Jr. Additionally, Evert had three children with Mill, who were all teenagers when the tennis legend divorced their biological father.
The growing reasoning was that the former couple couldn’t deal with their “big egos” at that time. The mother of Norman’s ex-wife, Laura Andrassy Sr., spoke on similar lines. “Chris and Greg both had big egos; they were both celebrities,” she said.
