Recently, an exact joke got a renowned comedian in deep trouble.
Aries Spears is a stand up is probably one of the best stand-up comedians in the business. However, his recent joke quickly turned into horror for the 47-year-old. Notably, the American comedy genius took a crack at Grammy-winning diva, Lizzo. The huge backlash came his way after Spears commented on Lizzo’s body. Moving into body-shaming, the fans were not happy with his display of humor. He later backtracked on his comments and had nothing but praise for Lizzo. But for him, his intentions came from his profession.
And during his recent podcast, Shaquille O’Neal sided with Spears amidst all the backlash. As an avid lover of comedy, the four-time NBA champion classified Spears’ comments as a mere joke.

Shaq sighed at his co-host Nischelle Turner who accused Spears of fat shaming. Shaq loves himself a good laugh, and comedians seem to be his favorite people. When it came to Spears, for Shaq, the comedian did his job which was to make people laugh. Instead, the Los Angeles Lakers great blamed the people for being too sensitive and making such a huge deal. In addition, he wants them to leave the comedians all alone.
The NBA Hall of Famer said: “You all sensitive people can’t pick and choose when you want to be sensitive. That’s all I’m saying. That man is a comedian, Leave Dave Chapelle, Corey Holcomb, and Aries Spears alone.”
The controversy between Spears and Lizzo has got out many reactions. However, Shaq made his stand clear. Likewise, he is a personality who knows how to take a joke. Notably, the hilarious bond between him and Charles Barkley has brought out nothing but laughs. Notably, his co-host often refuses to even call Shaq by his name. Rather, Barkley calls him a fat a*s, and even makes jokes about his children. However, Shaq acknowledges the humor and laughs the loudest on the whole set.
