Shaquille O’Neal is called the Big Aristotle but his inquisitive nature can sometimes lead him to a fair bit of trouble. He may have been one of the best NBA players in the 1990s but there are many who doubt his views on subjects off the court. His views on the flat earth conspiracy have created ripples on social media websites.

But, Shaq clarified his comments on comedian Conan O’Brien’s podcast. The former Los Angeles Lakers legend thought it was time for him to come clean. The criticism from netizens was perhaps too much for him to handle.

Shaq said, “I’m just saying… I like to discuss theories.” Conan thought that Shaquille O’Neal was no flat earther even though he has a history of making such comments.

Two weeks ago, he was at the eye of the storm after he doubled down on his 2017 comments. He said he thought the Earth was flat because he didn’t fly diagonally on his 20-hour flight to Australia. He also talked about how the lake near his house didn’t rotate to the left or the right. The host did push back but Shaq was not ready to budge.

Five years back, he supported Kyrie Irving’s flat-Earth comments. He said then that when he drives from coast to coast and finds the planet flat. Shaq said, “I’m just saying. I drive from Florida to California all the time, and it’s flat to me.” Shaq later went back on his words, saying that he was just “joking”.

And the Big Aristotle did a similar thing with Conan pretty recently on his podcast.

Shaquille O’Neal has a history of putting his foot inside his mouth

This is not Shaquille O’Neal’s first Rodeo. He once argued with fellow expert Kenny Smith about gas prices. He said that he fills half a tank of gas and that saves a lot of money. The others were very befuddled by how he is saving money.

Again, he might just be trolling. He is known to be a notorious troll who says ridiculous stuff with a deadpan face. Hence, does he really believe the Earth is flat? No one really knows for sure.
